What Do We Do?
Brazil Online Gaming Consultants provides end-to-end assistance to non-Brazilian operators who wish to operate legally in the Brazilian market.
Every relationship is unique and bespoke. In broad principle operators who desire the assurance of engagement with independent advisors who know the market, the culture and the people may look to us for:
Our Fees
All work is billed on a time-spent basis, plus disbursements if any. Hourly rates vary from $50 USD for secretarial work to $895 USD for the most senior lawyers in Washington. A budget is agreed for all contracts. Centralized service is provided from Canada, and invoices are payable in Canadian or US dollars. The consulting team does not provide services in Brazil but will refer operators to trusted professionals in Brazil for legal, accounting and other services as required.

Entering the Brazilian Market
Entering any new market is a challenge. Brazil has a large population with significant pent-up demand for regulated sports betting. There are significant requirements for entry, though there is presently no limit set to the number of concessions which may be granted.
Operators will be required to submit, as part of the application process, documents proving their legal qualification, tax and labor compliance, financial and technical qualification.
While initial expressions of interest may come from non-Brazilian corporations, grant of a license to operate will require establishment of a domestic entity in Brazil.

An applicant may NOT have among their partners or controlling shareholders, officers or indirect owners people who hold interests in public football companies or professional sports organizations.
There are also specific requirements regarding bettor deposits: operators will not be permitted to accept cash, credit cards, bank slips or third-party remittances. Further, sites must provide bettors with the ability to set daily limits on playing time, maximum losses, pause periods and self-exclusion.
Responsible gaming is a central theme in the legislation as presently proposed, requiring practices to prevent compulsive gambling, inducement of debt, and to protect vulnerable people. Advertising and marketing must be clear about odds and potential winnings, and prohibit use by persons under 18. Gambling may not be presented as socially attractive, or a contributor to personal success.
Operators must commit to making live customer service available 24/7, in Brazilian Portuguese.
